Commentary on Richard Osborn and his family

The biography of Franklin Osburn-1601 (American Ancestry, vol. VII) states that Richard Osborn (who died 1729<sic> in Nottingham, PA) had sons Randall, Jonathan, John and Nicholas. John and Nicholas moved from Chester Co., PA to Loudoun Co., VA. The biography does not name a son Richard. However, the will of Randall Osborn (who died in 1771 in Philadelphia Co., PA) names his nephews and nieces, showing that Richard Osborn-3022 was his brother. Also, Richard Osborn-3022's son Nicholas Osborn-1410 (died 1814 in Trumbull Co., OH) also moved to Loudoun Co., VA for a period of time. So Richard Osborn-3022 must have been brother of John and Nicholas who moved to Loudoun Co., VA.

Most unusually, the will of Richard Osborn-1632 makes no mention of children and he bequeaths belongings to various friends. Why he makes no mention of children is unknown to me. In fact I currently have no primary evidence varifying the information found in the biography of Franklin Osburn-1601.
