Osborne Origins Guestbook

My most recent Osborn ancestor is Esther Osborn, who was born 11 Apr 1753 in Fairfield, CT. She married Joseph Barlow in 1779 in New Fairfield, CT, and they later moved to Delaware County, NY. I believe she tracks back to Captain Richard Osborn, who was in Hingham, MA, in 1635, later moving to New Haven CT and Fairfield CT.

The mysterious John Williams who died in 1829, Boone county MO is my ggg gf. He does seem to be the brother of Susan Williams who m. John Osborn. In his probate file is a scrap of paper in his hand: "Sis, please pay (Thomas?) Harrison the $5 you owe me for the musket." His son, John Brent Wms b. 1822 purchased his 1st newspaper in 1843. He published until his death in 1882. I own his microfilmed papers 1853-1882. He writes continuously about family in KY. When giving news of extended family he writes: (Georgetown papers pls copy). An intensive search does not confirm what really seems to be - that he is of the Culpeper/Orange group, tied to Jael Harrison Williams. My family is still acquainted with Caves & Tutts.

I am trying to learn more about my great grandparents - and I'm just so confused now. My grandpa, Earl E. Osborne was born in 1915 and I found WWII records for him. From ancestry.com, I found cencus records that his father was William J. Osborne -born in New York in 1866 and that William J's mother & father were both from Northern Ireland. I can't find anything else from this point. If anyone knows about the Osbornes in NY/NJ or can direct me, it would be so helpful. Thanks for any comments or tips.

Been tracing my tree. I seem to hit a wall in the 1800's. traced my grandfather [John W Osborne] back to 1856 which leads to reference to father John Henry. There is a mention of J H Mother of Susan, but no Father.

I am interested in the history of Joseph Osborne, (born in February 1693, who married Experience Tolles in 1714 in West Haven, New Haven, CT.

My connection is through his son Thomas' line.
