Hello, my great grandmother is Priscilla Osborn, daughter of John Thomas Osborn and Mary Jane Sheppard. Bartholomew Osburn and Elizabeth Abbott are my 3G grandparents. I'm new at this and really appreciate your information!

Before starting this search, all I knew was that Elijah Hamilton Guthery is my grandfather, buried here in Effingham, IL.

My GG Grandfather was Newton Caswell Osborn, son of Gilbert & Polly Osborne. He and his brother passed of Typhoid in Cheney KS when my G Grandmother was a young child & her mother (Ella Lee) remarried a few years later. I'm seeing here that a Riley Osborn was a brother of Gilbert and hope to find other interesting info. There are families that came out of Virginia and they seemed to have known of each other for a long time before migrating to Kentucky at about the same time. Lee, Craven, Herndon, Wilson & Hammonds families, with some interesting history so far. Any matters of interest from these families would be good to know more of, and if anyone has ancestry going further back, I would like to compare with mine. There are many mistakes out there; I've attempted to be careful.

I am researching Timothy Osborn and Susannah Higley Osborn's children: Justus/Justice, Susannah, Isaac Higley, and Seba Osborn.

I love the way the lists are set up to search by first name on this site. This truly made my research day! :D

I am just discovering that I am evidently descended from the Ashford, Kent Osborns and have tentatively traced my direct line back to about 1200. I say tentative as I keep running into things that simply don't add up (births after deaths, wives that weren't, etc), Not uncommon, I realize.

Right now, I'm trying to sort Sir Peter of Tyld Hall born 1442 as I have various references that he had one wife (Eme) or a second wife--and that my ancestor, the youngest son, John, maybe from that second marriage. Does anyone know anything definite about Sir Peter? Birth and death dates don;t line up.

Thank you,

Bev Osborn

I am new this site and to researching history on the Osborne lineage. My Father was the late Robert T. Osborne who owned College Hardware & Lumber near the Campus drive in theater in San Diego. I can trace back 3 generations to Francis Joseph Osborne a brick mason who married Katherine Quinn in Colorado. His first daughter Winifred was born 5/28/1888 but we can only estimate when Francis Joseph was born.

My lineage was known to have settled in Pennsylvania and subsequently moved to Colorado.

I am interested in any connections particularly to Pennsylvania Osbornes.

I am descended from Jonathan Osborn (1754-1814??) & Elizabeth Russell (1760-1850). I get a lot of conflicting information on Jonathan as to dates origins etc. I know he settled in Fayette County Pennsylvania in the late 1700's as His son Abraham Osborne is my 3rd great grandfather & I have family records that definitely go back to him & have found his grave in the county. Can anyone help with definitive information on Jonathan?
